A little backstory on how this CPU arrived in my possession
On September 2nd, 2019 I have received my Ryzen 9 3900x. For this particular CPU there is a global shortage and it is very difficult to buy it. In order to get this one on my hands, I had to make 2 orders in 2 different stores, the first order I did in begging of July and to this day -September 5th- haven’t arrived and the store has not ETA for it and a huge waiting list. The 2nd, the one that got the CPU into my hands was placed on August 17 and was delivered a few days after.
Where was the problem you’d say? The problem was partly in my end, that I was counting for financial aid to buy the most hard to find part and that aid never came and the biggest part was that the store in which I have placed the order screwed me up twice!
I have left them there a deposit of about 70euros for this order, it wasn’t required but I did just to be safe. The store’s manager assured me that the CPU will remain in their store until September 2. Fantastic!
I have gathered the remaining cash on August 28th, so I gave a call to the store to tell them I am on my way to buy my CPU. I have order ID, I have paid a portion as “insurance” and I have the store’s manager promise that it will be available only for me until September 2nd. what could possible go wrong? The manager of the store, the same guy that promised me he will keep the CPU there for me, told me in casual voice “I have sold your CPU”, “but don’t worry, I have placed a new order for you that will be delivered on the day we’ve agreed upon, September 2nd”.
Oh the fury that day!
Why would you sell my product?
And if you are planning to do so, why don’t you call me to tell me so I know and not bust my ass to gather the money that early?
And since when the “until” becomes “agreed upon”? Where did we agree that I will come on that specific day?
Anyway, the days passed, I didn’t have the RAM and the motherboard to QQ about.
On September 2nd, I called the store to ask them IF my new CPU have arrived so I can finally go and buy it and they tell me they know nothing about such an order!
I have no health issues, I am a very healthy person but that moment I’ve turned red!
A few hours later and after 3 more phone calls from my end, because they told me they are looking into my order and will call me soon(never in the end), they told me that my CPU is there and I can go and pick it up. So I go…and a new surprise was waiting for me in the cash registry!
Instead of apologising for the troubles they’ve put me into, they changed the price from the price of the order which was 599Euros to 614Euros! REALLY? REALLY? Plaisio.gr for me is dead after this treatment!
I almost never buy from Plaisio.gr because it is really expensive but it was -and still is- the only store that has this particular CPU in stock!
Greece is European only by reputation, the harsh reality is that we are primitive country in almost every aspect. In any civilised country the store would: A) Apologise and B) Offer a gift card or something. Here they made me to pay up another 15Euros for my troubles that they have made!
Anyway, the CPU is in my hands now and here are some pictures of it! I am hoping for good productivity and gaming on this system for at least 4 years!
